The April Lineup
All,
As we re-settle into the room that is Lighten Up, I’d like to offer a quick refresher about how our time together works (and to those who are just joining us: Welcome).
Today, we are setting the tone with our Monthly Lineup, which consists of a theme that will be carried through our Sunday practice that will arrive in your inbox each week, complete with corresponding reflection points. The goal here – with the notion of a practice – is to provide a compass for your headspace while encouraging you to exert small amounts of effort towards practical, tangible change.
Then, every Wednesday, I’ll drop in with a quick check-in to keep our focus top of mind.
So twice a week, via email, there will be contact. And while I waiver between it being too much and not enough, that actually brings us to our focus for April:
And that is The Analog Resistance.
What does this mean? Well, forgive the dramatics, but it’s a bit of a rally cry. Not to revolt against modern technology but rather to quit the expectation of constant absorption and availability.
I mean, doesn’t even the prospect of that feel like relief?
It does. At least to me. And if you find yourself craving the same, I hope you will join me in using April as a time to choose less static.
Because as we discussed in March, our world is in a rapid state of transition, but this does not mean we have to get swept up with it.
So, without further ado, our lineup appears below. If it feels like a dose of nostalgia, then I’m doing my job.
See, mixing the old WITH the new is where the magic happens (wink).
I’ll be back in touch on Sunday, when you can read (or listen to) our first practice.
May I suggest taking a moment to do it while savoring a cup of something good or maybe lighting a candle?
Less – in the more – THAT is our mantra for April.
Here’s to you,
The April Lineup:
