Dr. Steven A.R. Murphy, MD

Dr. Murphy is a pioneer in the field of Genomic Medicine. For the last decade, his efforts on the research and clinical front have helped thousands of lives and changed medical policy in the United States.  

His work has been featured in USA Today, Newsweek, WSJ, New York Times and Bloomberg.

As a multi-year awardee of the Castle Connolly TOP DOCTORS as voted on by his peer physicians, he is recognized for the expertise and skills he brings to the Greater New York and Tri-State Area.

Carl Battinelli Training Director

With extensive, multi-sport experience, Carl’s background includes physical assessments and programming for collegiate and local athletics throughout the Tri-State. His talents, which have been applied to athletes of a variety of sports ranging from baseball to basketball to football, include incorporating elements of biomechanics, movement analysis and prehabilitation.

Carl’s approach to training is rooted heavily in teaching and applying the finer points of technique to achieve tangible gains in performance. He believes in safely and efficiently progressing competitors through sport-specific protocols to excel under their individual sport’s demands.

He holds a bachelor’s in Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning from The University of Connecticut, as well as being a nationally recognized Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach and a Strongman Coach.

Dr. Sean Altman, PT, DPT, CPT

As a Functional Medicine Doctor specializing in Orthopedic Medicine, Dr. Altman delivers an integrated, patient-centered approach to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders and chronic pain conditions. His practice addresses diagnoses such as TMJ disorder, cervical spine issues, migraines, joint instability, lumbar radiculopathy, arthritis, tendon injuries, and other chronic and acute musculoskeletal concerns.

Through this integrated, evidence-based approach, Dr. Altman focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of musculoskeletal conditions to enhance mobility, alleviate pain, improve sleep, and achieve sustainable functional improvements. Whether treating athletes, individuals recovering from injuries, or those managing chronic conditions, his goal is to empower patients toward natural, long-lasting healing and optimal wellness. Jessica Benedetto Pre/Post-Natal Specialist

A wellness motivator on a mission for helping others, Jessica’s approach to health is heavily rooted on the foundation of redefining what it means to feel your best.

With a B.S. in Exercise Science and Health and Human Performance from Roanoke College, Jessica aims to help her clients understand how their bodies were destined to move by focusing on functional fitness. She achieves this armed with over a decade of experience in producing results, and her knowledge obtained through certifications acquired from respected institutions such as NASM, AFFA, TRX and PaddleFit. 

In addition to her talents as a coach, Jessica served as the Health and Fitness director for the Darien Y, where she was directly responsible for an extensive array of fitness programming, staff development and all elements of the member experience. It was during this time that she became certified as a Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in order to be able to address her population’s wellness on a wholistic level.

As a mother of two, Jessica’s pregnancy and postpartum recovery following her first child inspired her to broaden her impact. This led her to become a Corrective Exercise Specialist for pre/postnatal women. She is looking forward to enhancing The U’s current range of offerings with this expertise, while expanding the brand’s overall impact by serving as its Director of Operations.

Dr. Brian Nathanson, D.C.

Dr. Nathanson came to chiropractic meidicine mid-career, fueled by a desire to help people and make a positive difference in their lives. He is at the forefront of the latest technological advances, which currently include both radial and focused Shockwave therapies (EPAT®, ESWT), Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy (EMTT®), instrument assisted manual techniques, such as Graston®, new Sports Chiropractic techniques and Spinal Decompression therapies.

These tools and techniques, often used in tandem, allow Dr. Nathanson to provide an effective non-invasive means of successfully treating musculoskeletal pain, injuries and chronic conditions with far greater targeting accuracy, efficiency and efficacy. Jordan Napolitano LAT, ATC, CSCS, CSPS

Armed with a passion for athletics and hands-on clinical experience, Jordan’s ultimate goal is to help people improve their quality of life at any age. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Southern Connecticut State University, and is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and an NSCA Certified Special Populations Specialist (CSPS). With over 12 years of experience working as the head athletic trainer at Stamford High School, as well as being involved with direct patient care in a physical therapy setting, Jordan’s approach is inherently therapeutic and progressive in nature. He is proud to work consistently with a wide variety of clients ranging from young athletes trying to perform their best to seniors trying to live their best lives and everyone in between.
